Horrible Mold and Wood Rot Problems in Honea Path, SC Home!

When customer Claude B.’s wife became sick, they moved to a different location closer to the hospital, and subsequently left their Honea Path home by itself for nearly a year. When they returned, the crawl space was the last thing on their mind. However, an awful smell was wafting up through the venting systems. Upon investigation, Claude knew he needed to call a specialist to inspect the entire crawl space. System Design Specialist Nathan Bailey rushed to the scene to help the family with their problematic crawl space.

When Specialist Nathan crawled out from under the house and showed the pictures to Claude, he was baffled at the mold and wood rot damage that appeared throughout the crawl space. System Design Specialist proposed that Cantey’s #1 Team would install a CleanSpace Encapsulation system along with SmartJack crawl space jacks, dehumidifier, SmartSump System, and wood rot replacement of rim joist and sister joists.

SmartJacks Level Home with Historic Roots in Pelzer, SC

Diane B. bought her home in Pelzer, SC a few years ago because of its historic roots. The home was built in the late 1800s and she loved the idea of bringing back some of that charm to it. Her first step in major renovations had to be fixing the sloping floors. She did not really know who to call in order to rectify the situation. She asked some of her neighbors who also had older homes and several of them had work done by Cantey Foundation Specialists. They were all pleased with the work and even showed Diane the solutions. Diane called and scheduled an appointment. System Design Specialist Jerod Tafta arrived for the appointment ready to inspect. He carefully went through the whole crawl space to inspect the foundation support that was in place. Jerod told Diane after the inspection that she just needed some extra support which Cantey’s patented SmartJack system could provide. The installation would begin with sections of soil being removed at the sites for each SmartJack. These would then be filled with tightly compacted crushed stone to create a base that could withstand the weight of the SmartJacks and the home. A footing piece is installed on top of the stone that is then the resting place for the SmartJack. The SmartJack would then be attached to a long metal beam that would be attached to the top of the crawl space. Once all the SmartJacks are attached, they then would be adjusted to create lift. Diane was impressed with Jerod’s knowledge and felt confident in Cantey to get the job done right. Production Team Leader Juan Ramirez, Production Team Member Matthew Williams, and Production Team Member Robert Gardner came out and effectively installed the SmartJack system. Diane is moving forward with other renovations with the comfort of knowing that her floors are stable.
