Homeowners Eddie and Lisa F. of Cattageville, SC have recently started to notice visible sagging in the floor of one room in their home. Eddie consulted the help of another company to fix the floor; however, he was not satisfied with their service. Complaining to his neighbor about not being able to find the right people to help, they suggested Cantey Foundation Specialists. Eddie gave Cantey a call, and Specialist Grayson Forehand came out to do a free inspection. After conducting a proper inspection, Specialist Grayson explained to Eddie that he needed his floor joist replaced because they were too rotten to create a structurally sound floor. Specialist Grayson also suggested that Eddie plan to install CleanSpace after the wood work was complete to prevent any further moisture damage to his floors. Production Team Leader Matt Garcia, Production Team Member David Herbert, and Production Team Member Nick Riddick came out to Eddie's home and successfully removed the rotten wood and replaced that with a new floor joist. Eddie and Lisa are now enjoying the new floor in their home and have plans to work again with Cantey to get CleanSpace installed.
Adam H. is a homeowner in Adams Run, SC. Over the past year or so Adam has slowly noticed that his home's floor is getting lower and lower. It has been slowly arcing inward creating a small slope for him and his family. "It's become a real nuisance anymore", Adam said. "At the time I just didn't know what to do with it". Adam likes to get on Facebook and look around from time to time and one day he noticed Cantey Foundation Specialists' Facebook page and decided to give us a call. Specialist Michael Scott came out for a free inspection of Adams home. After the inspection Michael explained to him that the problem was in the wall not the floor. Over time the wall had sunk and due to that pressure on the floor it created a ripple effect which caused his floor to drop in that particular spot and rise in another that Adam hadn't noticed. Team Leader Israel, Team Member Jonathan, and Team Member Austin came out to Adam's home and installed the Smart Jacks. "I couldn't believe it was the wall that was the problem and not the floor, I'm glad I called Cantey because that could have been a real mess", Adam said. Now Adam can go back to enjoying his home once more knowing that Cantey did the job right.
David D. of Hollywood, SC noticed that his back door was having troubles closing the whole way. Knowing that his floors were sagging in other areas as well, he stopped Specialist Grayson Forehand when he saw his Cantey truck at the gas station. Specialist Grayson Forehand explained that it could be numerous problems from wood rot to misplaced crawl space support beams, but that he would be happy to inspect the crawl space and give him a free estimate. A few days later, Specialist Grayson inspected David's crawl space and found that termites had eaten through most of the supporting beams. This weakened its support system thus causing the sagging floors and issues closing the back door. Production Crew led by Team Leader Matt Garcia completed the job by replacing all damaged wood with our treated lumber. Now, David can close his back door fully, and he won't have to worry about any future damage!
While doing a FREE inspection and estimate in the crawlspace of this Summerville, SC home, the Cantey Specialist noticed that the homeowner had some wood damage that needed replacing. Excess moisture under the home had caused mold and mildew to build up and rot several spots that needed replacing. The excess moisture will need to be addressed with encapsulation, a sump pump, a dehumidifier in addition to replacing the rotten wood.
Replacing rotten wood in your crawl space is essential for maintaining a healthy and structurally sound home. This process involves removing the damaged wood, treating the area to prevent future rot, and installing new, pressure-treated lumber to ensure long-lasting stability.
