Brian S. of Kingstree, SC had excessive moisture in his crawl space that caused the subfloor to swell. Every time Brian walked through his bedroom, he could see a hump forming underneath the flooring. Stumbling across our advertisement in the Money Mailer in his mailbox, he decided to give Cantey Foundation Specialists a call for a free estimate. Our Appointment Center Representative Lauren Campbell had an available appointment for Brian within the week. Specialist Eddie Mathis inspected the crawl space and foundation of Brian's home, and he took numerous pictures to exemplify the damage. High levels of moisture caused the structural wood to rot, disintegrate, and become moldy. The best solution was to tear out all the bad wood, replace with our treated lumber, spray other affected areas with Mold X, and rebuild the subfloor. Cantey's crew led by Team Leader Matt Garcia were able to tear our and replace a whole room within two days! Now, Brian does not have to worry about falling through the floor or having major health issues because of the mold in his crawl space.

Sandy B. bought her home in Charleston, SC a few years ago. Her home is over a hundred years old and one of the reasons she wanted to buy it was to give it the love it needed. The previous owner had not taken care of this beautiful home so Sandy set out to do some home improvements to restore this home to its former glory. Recently, a city water pipe burst causing damage to the crawl space she had already repaired with the SmartJack system. The water caused the wood to begin to decay and Sandy worried about what further damage it could cause her home. She had previously had Cantey Foundation Specialists install the SmartJack system to her home and as she already trusted the work they did she decided to call again. System Design Specialist Grayson Forehand came out and did an inspection on Sandy's crawl space. He concluded that one of the major beams would need to be replaced but it would be a simple job to complete. Production Team Leader Matt Garcia, Production Team Member Nick Riddick, and Production Team Member David Herbert arrived at Sandy's home and successfully replaced the beam. Sandy now has peace of mind that the foundation of her beautiful home is safe.
This home is located on James Island and needed some repairs before the current owner could put it on the market. Our crew went in and repaired floor joists and the subfloor where there was alot of moisture damage from standing water. The insulation also had to then be taken out and a vapor barrier was put down. This is a big improvement to the home and the owner is able to use the pictures when showing their home to prospective buyers.
Meg K. of Mount Pleasant, SC called Cantey Foundation Specialists because she wanted to sell her home, and she knew that the sagging floors were a major concern. System Design Specialist Kendall Moore, Jr. inspected Meg's crawl space, interior, and exterior parts of her home. Upon the examination, Specialist Kendall found rotting subfloor and inadequate crawl space posts that were not supporting the floor above it. Specialist Kendall's solution was Cantey's patented SmartJack System that could lift and stabilize her sagging floors back into place using galvanized steel crawl space posts. The SmartJack posts are better than any other product on the market because they are fully adjustable, addresses the real problem which is the soil, and is not vulnerable to mold and rot. The SmartJack System can also be installed with limited disruption to the homeowner and in a timely manner.
