Why is water seeping into my basement where the wall meets the floor?
This is caused by hydrostatic pressure. As soil around your foundation becomes saturated with rain, it expands and pushes against your walls. This pressure forces water through the “cove joint”—the gap where your walls and floor meet—and up through cracks in the floor. Since this water is coming from underneath the foundation, surface sealants won’t stop it; you need an interior drainage system to relieve the pressure.
