This is a great picture that clearly shows how this basement wall is bowing. Notice the distance between the wall and the wood beams at the bottom of this picture and compared to the top of the picture. This basement wall was bowing right below a load bearing wall. This caused the entire master bathroom to settle.
This load bearing wall was being pushed out by the shifting of the wall underneath. You can also see where the excavation is taking place in order to install the GeoLock wall anchors.
What a scary sight! You do not need to be a contractor to see where this beam used to be flush with the wall and how this is a major problem that could potentially have devastating effects on this Fort Mill home. Notice how it is being pushed out from the wall behind it bowing.
Given the construction that some homes require and the size of some of these jobs, it is amazing how much these small machines can accomplish as you can see in this picture. This is our foreman, Sixto, excavating the area to put in the GeoLock wall anchors.
This is the "Anchor" side of the wall anchor. We dug down in the garage to place this part of the wall anchor in order to pull the wall located 10 feet away.
This is what the wall anchors look like once they are installed inside.
More wall anchors. These are used to straighten the bowing and keep the wall from moving in the future.
Putting in the final touches to put the garage back together after the wall anchors have been installed.
Check out how we fixed a bowing wall that was moving a load-bearing wall above it. This in turn was causing the master bathroom to sink and settle!
